Join us for the MoSTFun Webinar Series featuring Dr. Tobias Andermann.

Discover how cutting-edge biodiversity models, environmental DNA (eDNA), and high-resolution remote sensing are transforming how we understand, map, and forecast biodiversity in a rapidly changing world.

Predictive biodiversity modelling integrates ecological theory, statistical modelling and rapidly expanding environmental and biodiversity data sources to better understand and forecast patterns of life on Earth. By combining species data with environmental predictors, these approaches help estimate conservation value, anticipate species assemblages, and guide management decisions in a changing world.

During this webinar, participants will learn about recent advances in predictive biodiversity modelling developed at the Biodiversity Data Lab in Uppsala, Sweden. In his talk, Dr. Tobias Andermann will focus on the potential of existing models in combination with improved data coverage, particularly in combination with utilizing environmental DNA as a scalable method for the collection of biodiversity data. In addition, the webinar will highlight the value of emerging remote sensing products that provide high-resolution information on site-level environmental conditions, offering strong potential for predictive biodiversity modelling. For more information about ongoing projects visit their webpage at https://www.biodiversity.se/.

This webinar is ideal for researchers, students, conservation practitioners, and anyone interested in the future of biodiversity modelling and applying diverse data sources to predict species compositions.
