Director for SBDI – position open

We are recruiting a new Director for the Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure (SBDI).

The Director will lead the strategic and operational development of SBDI in its next phase, ensuring continued delivery of high-quality services, strong national coordination, and long-term sustainability. The role includes overall responsibility for planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with partner institutions and funders.

SBDI operates in close synergy with GBIF Sweden and other national and international initiatives, and the Director will represent the infrastructure in relevant forums and strategic dialogues.

We are looking for an experienced leader with a strong understanding of research infrastructure, biodiversity data, and collaborative environments. The position offers the opportunity to shape the future of Sweden’s biodiversity data landscape at a critical time for open science and biodiversity monitoring.
