What is SUBSIM
The quickly rising demand to monitor the ocean with autonomous techniques and computer vision methods led to the development of SUBSIM, a platform for efficient management and processing of underwater image and video data. SUBSIM provides essential functions to conduct research and automated monitoring using image and video data, including data management, machine learning, digital collaboration, citizen science, and high-performance computing.
Who can use SUBSIM
The platform is designed to support scientists and investigators in academic institutes, environmental agencies, public bodies as well as environmental consultancy companies. The services for management and analysis of marine data are open-source and can be used by anyone. If you want to upload and analyse your footage on SUBSIM, please contact the SBDI Support Center and we will help you to get started.
Who developed SUBSIM
We are a group of marine, social & data scientists as well as system engineers who all care about the protection of marine life. The organisations developing the SUBSIM infrastructure include University of Gothenburg, Wildlife.ai, Combine, Swedish Geological Survey, and BeGeospatial.
