The World Species Congress (free & virtual)
May 14 - May 15
The World Species Congress, a virtual arrangement hosted by Reverse the Red. It will amplify our collective conservation efforts and facilitate critical connections that accelerate our impact for species. The venue is in New Zealand but it is possible to watch live.
Registration is free for all species professionals and anyone interested in biodiversity protection thanks to our generous sponsors. The World Species Congress is entirely online, so there are no applications or attendance fees or requirements.
The Congress will enable the government partners, conservation impact partners, and storytelling partners to gather, learn with and from each other, and commit to actions to reverse species declines. This is a true Congress, aimed at professionals and practitioners in the species world. Those who should attend include:
- species and biodiversity experts
- including IUCN members, species specialist groups
- aquarium, botanic garden, and zoo staff
- government agencies and ministers
- NGO staff and conservation practitioners
- ecology, biology, and environment academics
- young professionals in conservation
Reverse the Red is a coalition of organizations, groups, and agencies co-chaired by IUCN Species Survival Commission and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
The World Species Congress offers a forum for collaboration and a roadmap for success for anyone striving to create a healthier planet. We will celebrate and learn from successful strategies, tools, and partnerships in order to replicate, amplify, and accelerate action.
